Global nitrile butadiene rubber market set for rapid growth, to reach around £346 million by 2020 according to a new research report.
Nitrile-butadiene rubber is a complex family of various butadiene monomers and unsaturated copolymers. Its chemical and physical properties vary based on the polymer’s composition of nitrile. This form of synthetic rubber is usually resistant to oil, fuel and other chemicals. Some nitrile-butadiene rubbers are hydrogenated to decrease the chemical reactivity of the polymer backbone to enhance heat resistance. NBR finds wide range of application in fuel hoses, gaskets, rollers, and other products which requires oil resistance. Different types of NBR include Cold NBR, hot NBR, cross-linked hot NBR, carboxylate nitrile and bound antioxidant NBR.
